Hello travelers! This is a 7-day safari itinerary I’ve fine-tuned and perfected over the years. I feel comfortable to say that, for most travelers, this is the greatest way to explore Tanzania in a week. Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival, our team will be there to greet you with warm smiles and transfer you to Arusha National Park, where you'll spend your first night. Settle into your accommodation, perhaps catching glimpses of the majestic Mount Meru, and get ready for an exciting journey ahead.
Day 2: Arusha National Park to Tarangire National Park
Start the day with a half-day game drive in Arusha National Park, where you'll encounter diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. After lunch, we'll hit the road bound for Tarangire National Park. Prepare for an unforgettable evening surrounded by the iconic baobab trees and roaming herds of elephants.
Day 3: Tarangire to Karatu
Rise early for a morning game drive in Tarangire, soaking in the sights and sounds of the African bush. After breakfast, we'll journey to Karatu, a charming town nestled on the outskirts of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check into your accommodation and unwind, ready for more adventures tomorrow.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
Today, we delve into the wonders of the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most iconic landscapes. Spend the day on a thrilling game drive, marveling at the abundant wildlife against the backdrop of the crater's towering walls. As the sun sets, return to Karatu, where you can relax and reflect on the day's adventures.
Day 5: Karatu to Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge
En route to Serengeti National Park, we'll stop at Olduvai Gorge, known as the "Cradle of Mankind," where you'll learn about the fascinating discoveries of early human ancestors by Dr. Leakey and Mary. Take a stroll through history, marveling at ancient footprints and archaeological finds. Continue your journey to Serengeti, where endless savannahs and thrilling wildlife encounters await.
Day 6: Full Day Serengeti Safari
Get ready for an exhilarating day of game drives in the legendary Serengeti. From lion prides to cheetahs on the hunt, every moment promises excitement and wonder. Keep your camera ready as you witness the drama of the African wilderness unfold before your eyes.
Day 7: Departure to Zanzibar or Arusha
Today marks the end of your safari adventure. Depending on your plans, you can either catch a flight to the tropical paradise of Zanzibar for some beach relaxation or return to Arusha for one final night. Reflect on the incredible experiences and memories you've made during your time in Tanzania.
